Bring colleagues together for a short, optional Diwali social. Use this 28-minute plan for a friendly welcome, space to share, and a game everyone can learn.
See the session planChoose one host and one game. Try the controls beforehand, check the access you need, and keep the joining link ready. Include the video-call link, time zone and finish time in the invitation.
Let people play, watch, or pass on a sharing prompt. No holiday knowledge is needed. Invite personal stories only from colleagues who volunteer; nobody needs to speak for a whole tradition.
For a hybrid group, use the same meeting chat for links and shared answers. Read out anything important that is only visible to people in the room.
Thank everyone for joining. Explain that participation is optional and show where the game link will appear.
Ask, “What is one small thing that made your week brighter?” Welcome spoken answers, chat messages or a pass. If someone volunteered in advance to share a personal Diwali memory, give them a brief slot.
Share the joining link, walk through the basic controls and leave a moment for questions. Make the first round a warm-up.
Use the game you chose in advance. Encourage participation without putting quiet colleagues on the spot. Watch the clock and close the block between rounds when practical.
Invite a final comment or quick thank-you in chat. Thank anyone who shared a story, then finish at the advertised time.
These are suggested host time blocks. Settings and round length affect how many rounds fit; leave room to explain controls and wrap up.
