A Christmas music quiz for your team

No playlist to share over the call and no lag. Melody Match plays each holiday tune in every player’s browser at the same moment, a few notes at a time: 3, then 5, 8, 12, then the whole phrase. Type the title as soon as you know it; the fewer notes you need, the more you score.

Melody Match is included with a TeamBridge pass: $299 for 7 days or $499 for 12 months, for up to 200 players. Scribble and eight more games are free.

The Christmas songs in the quiz

The Holiday pack has 29 tunes, all public-domain carols, songs and winter classics, played as melodies (no recordings). Some of them:

  • Easy

Jingle Bells · Deck the Halls · Auld Lang Syne · The Twelve Days of Christmas · Silent Night · Away in a Manger.

  • Carols

Joy to the World · O Come, All Ye Faithful · Hark! The Herald Angels Sing · The First Noel · O Holy Night · We Three Kings.

  • Songs and classics

O Christmas Tree · Carol of the Bells · Up on the Housetop · Jolly Old Saint Nicholas · Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

  • Hard

The Skaters’ Waltz · Waltz of the Flowers · March from The Nutcracker · Russian Dance (Trepak) · Toyland.

Why a game beats a playlist on a video call

  • No audio over the call

Sharing music on Zoom or Teams sounds muddy and arrives late for some people. Here every browser plays the tune itself, at the same time.

  • Fair for everyone

Guesses are typed, not shouted, and the game knows alternative titles, like O Tannenbaum for O Christmas Tree.

  • Scored by notes

Name it after 3 notes and you score far more than after the whole phrase, so the leaderboard stays close.

  • A fact after each tune

The reveal plays the whole phrase and a short fact, like the Welsh New Year song behind Deck the Halls.

Tips for a Christmas music quiz at work

  • Ask people to unmute their browser

The tunes play from each player’s own browser tab, so check the tab isn’t muted before you start.

  • Pick the difficulty

Easy for a mixed group, Mixed or Hard for music fans. Relaxed, Normal or Fast listening time.

  • Keep it short

Eight rounds take about 10 minutes, a good slot between two other games.

  • Book it early

In 2026, the last Friday before Christmas is Friday, December 18. Put the party in the calendar at the start of December.

Questions

How do you do a Christmas music quiz on Zoom or Teams?

Open a Melody Match lobby on TeamBridge, pick the Holiday pack and paste the link in the meeting chat. The tunes play in each player’s browser at the same time, so there’s no audio to share over the call; everyone types their guesses on their own screen.

Which Christmas songs are in it?

29 public-domain carols, songs and winter classics, such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Deck the Halls, Carol of the Bells and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Modern pop songs aren’t included.

Is it a music quiz with sound?

Yes. Each tune plays as a melody, a few notes at a time, in every player’s browser. Some songs also have lyric rounds; carols are played as melodies only.

How many people can play?

Melody Match takes 3 to 25 players. For a bigger party, add a Trivia round, which takes up to 100.

Can we play it before December?

Yes. The Holiday pack can be picked any time; from December 1 it also joins the default mix.

How much does it cost?

Melody Match is included with a TeamBridge pass: the $299 Event Pass covers up to 200 players for 7 days, and the $499 Year Pass covers 12 months. No subscription.
