Holiday trivia questions from the game

The Holiday Party category has 36 questions about winter holidays around the world: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Thanksgiving and New Year. A few of them, with the answers:

  • Easy

What is the name of the reindeer with the red nose? (Rudolph) · For how many nights is Hanukkah celebrated? (Eight) · Which actor plays Buddy in the 2003 film Elf? (Will Ferrell)

  • Medium

Which meal became a Christmas tradition in Japan after a 1970s advertising campaign? (KFC fried chicken) · How many days does Kwanzaa last? (Seven) · What do people in Spain eat at midnight on New Year’s Eve? (Twelve grapes)

  • Hard

Counting every repeat, how many gifts does the singer receive in The Twelve Days of Christmas? (364) · Carol of the Bells is based on a folk song from which country? (Ukraine)

  • True or false

Jingle Bells was played on board a spacecraft by astronauts in 1965. (True) · Hanukkah always begins on December 25. (False) · Boxing Day is on December 26. (True)

Why a live game beats a question list

  • Nobody reads out questions

The game shows each question on every screen with a timer, then reveals the answer and the points. The host plays along instead of keeping score in a spreadsheet.

  • Everyone answers at once

Answers are tapped, not shouted, so quiet people and people with cameras off play as much as the loudest voice on the call.

  • Faster answers score more

Answers in the first 5 seconds get full points, then the points fall, so the leaderboard moves after every question.

  • Works for any team size

Trivia takes 2 to 100 players in one lobby. For more, open one lobby per department and compare the winners.

Tips for a holiday quiz people enjoy

  • Mix in a regular category

Holiday questions plus Film or General Knowledge keeps it fun for people who don’t follow the holidays closely.

  • Pick the difficulty

Easy, Medium, Hard or Any, and multiple choice or true/false. Ten questions takes about 8 minutes.

  • Book it early

Most teams play in the two weeks before the break. In 2026, the last Friday before Christmas is Friday, December 18; slots that week go fast.

  • End with a podium

Share your screen for the final standings and the awards like Brainiac and Fastest Finger.
