Holiday party games for large groups

When the whole company comes to the holiday party, pick games where everyone plays at once. Share one link in the call or on the room’s screen, and people join on their phone or laptop. We tested Trivia, This or That, Type Racer, Where in the World and Top Answers with 150 players connected to one room: every round ran to the end.

Trivia and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass, for everyone in the lobbies you host. Type Racer, Scribble and seven more games are free to play.

A 30-minute holiday party for a big group

Five games where nobody waits for a turn. The host shares the lobby while people join, then everyone plays on their own screen.

  1. 0–5 min

    Warm up: This or That

Two options a round and everyone votes at once, so the party starts while the last people are still joining.

  2. 5–15 min

    Holiday quiz: Trivia

Ten questions from the Holiday Party category. After each one, the standings show the top players and your own place.

  3. 15–20 min

    Race: Type Racer

A typing race of a minute or two. The screen shows the leaders, you, and how many more are racing.

  4. 20–30 min

Finale: Where in the World or Top Answers

Pin the place from three clues on a world map, or split the party into two teams that guess the most common answers.

What we saw in a test with 150 players

Before recommending games for big parties, we tested every TeamBridge game with 60 and with 150 players connected to one room: a host on a laptop, two phones and automated test players who answered, voted and guessed at human pace. With 150 connected, these five ran every round to the end.

  • Trivia

Everyone answers every question. The standings show the top rows and your own place, and the end screen says where you finished, like “97th of 153”.

  • This or That

Everyone votes each round, and the screen shows who is still choosing (“A, B & 59 more”), so the host knows when to move on.

  • Type Racer

Everyone races at once: the screen shows the leading racers, you, and “+55 more racing”. A race takes one to three minutes.

  • Where in the World

Everyone pins a guess on the map; the count of locked-in players runs live, and the reveal draws every pin with a line to the answer.

  • Top Answers

The whole room answers the survey, then two teams take turns guessing the top answers, one guesser per team at a time.

Pick by party size

  • 100 people or more

Trivia, This or That, Type Racer, Where in the World and Top Answers: the five that ran cleanly in our test with 150 players connected.

  • 30 to 60 people

People Bingo, Close Enough, Code Breaker, Mini Escape, Sweet Spot and Team Awards also held up in our tests with 60.

  • Up to about 20

Games where each person gets a turn or a card: Who Said That?, Bot or Not, Punchline Duel and Bluff Dice. In bigger rooms the turns add up, so save them for a team’s own party or a breakout room.

  • Several teams at once

Open one lobby per team or breakout room and post each link in its room, then compare the winners at the end.

The holiday options in these games

Pick the holiday option in the lobby; everything else stays the same, whatever the size of the group.

  • Holiday trivia

Trivia has a Holiday Party category. Mix it with General Knowledge or Film for a longer quiz.

  • Holiday markets

From December 1 to January 6, Where in the World offers a Holiday markets set of places next to the usual landmarks.

  • Holiday survey

Top Answers and People Bingo have a Holiday season pack, and Top Answers also takes your own prompts.

  • Not everyone celebrates

This or That, Type Racer and the General Knowledge and Geography trivia work for everyone, whatever they celebrate.

Hybrid party: some in the office, some at home

  • Everyone on their own screen

People in the office join on their phones and people at home on their laptops, from the same link. Nobody has to crowd around one screen.

  • One shared screen in the room

Share the lobby on the meeting room’s screen while people join, so the office sees the names come in along with the people on the call.

  • Make teams, not a crowd

Top Answers splits the party into two teams, and Where in the World plays in two to four teams: sides to cheer for, in the office and at home.

  • Try it the day before

Open a lobby with two or three colleagues a day early, so you know the settings and the start button on the day.

Questions

What are good holiday party games for a large group at work?

Games where everyone plays at the same time on their own screen. We tested Trivia, This or That, Type Racer, Where in the World and Top Answers with 150 players connected to one room: every round ran to the end.

How many people can play in one lobby?

Each card shows the range the game is made for: up to 100 players for Trivia, This or That, Where in the World and Top Answers, and up to 200 for Type Racer. A TeamBridge pass covers up to 200 players in the lobbies you host.

Does it work for a hybrid holiday party?

Yes. Everyone opens the same link: people in the office on their phones, people at home on their laptops next to the call. Share the lobby on the room’s screen while people join.

Can we play on Microsoft Teams or Zoom?

Yes. Paste the lobby link in the meeting chat; everyone plays in a browser tab next to the call, with nothing to install. It works the same on Google Meet.

Which games are better for small teams?

Games where each person gets a turn or a card, like Who Said That?, Bot or Not and Punchline Duel, are best up to about 20 players.

Do players need an account?

No. The host signs in and shares the link; everyone else picks a name and plays.

Are the games free?

Type Racer, Scribble and seven more games are free to play. Trivia, This or That and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass.

Ready for your next team social?

Share one link. Everyone plays in the browser.
