Team building games for large groups

Games that work when the whole department is on the call. Everyone opens one link and plays at the same time on their own screen, so nobody waits for a turn. Trivia, This or That and People Bingo take up to 100 players in one lobby; Draw Battle and Type Racer up to 200.

Trivia, This or That and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass, for everyone in the lobbies you host. Type Racer, Scribble and five more games are free to play.

A 20-minute game for an all-hands

Fits the end of a town hall or a department meeting. Everyone plays from their own screen, so it moves as fast with 100 people as with 10.

  1. 0–3 min

    Everyone joins

Paste the lobby link in the meeting chat and share the lobby on screen while the names come in. Players join on a laptop or phone, without an account.

  2. 3–8 min

    Warm up: This or That

Two options per round, everyone votes at once, and the call sees how the company split.

  3. 8–18 min

    Main game: Trivia

Ten questions from the categories you pick, with a leaderboard after each one. Or Draw Battle to split the call into two teams.

  4. 18–20 min

    Crown the winners

Share the podium on screen and congratulate the winners before the next item on the agenda.

Three ways to run a game for a big group

Large-group team building usually means booking a hosted event or building something yourself. A ready-made game sits in between.

Tips for games with a big group

  • Pick games where everyone plays at once

In a big call, turn-based games mean long waits. Votes, quizzes and races keep everyone busy.

  • Share the lobby, not the game

Share your screen while people join so they see the names come in, then stop: everyone has the game on their own screen.

  • Make teams, not a crowd

Team games like Draw Battle and Top Answers turn 80 people into two sides to cheer for, which keeps a big call lively.

  • Try it the day before

Open a lobby with two or three colleagues a day early, so you know the settings and the start button on the day.

Questions

What team building games work for large groups?

Games where everyone plays at the same time. Trivia, This or That, People Bingo and Top Answers take up to 100 players in one lobby; Draw Battle and Type Racer up to 200.

How many people can play in one lobby?

It depends on the game: from 10 for Codenames to 200 for Draw Battle, Fake Artist and Type Racer. Each card shows the range.

Do we need breakout rooms?

Not for the games made for big groups: everyone plays in one lobby. For games made for small groups, like Codenames, open one lobby per breakout room.

Does it work for an all-hands on Microsoft Teams or Zoom?

Yes. Paste the lobby link in the meeting chat; everyone plays in a browser tab next to the call, on a laptop or a phone, with nothing to install. It works the same on Google Meet.

Is it free?

Type Racer, Scribble, Fake Artist and four more games are free to play. A TeamBridge pass adds Trivia and the other premium games for everyone in the lobbies you host, up to 200 players.

Do players need an account?

No. The host signs in and shares the link; everyone else picks a name and plays.

Ready for your next team social?

Share one link. Everyone plays in the browser.
