End of year team building games
Close the year with your team in one 30-minute call: vote on team awards, look back at the year together and finish with a game. Share one link in Teams, Zoom or Meet; everyone plays in their browser, and the game runs the rounds and the scores so the organiser gets to play too.
Team Awards and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass. Scribble, Codenames, Two Truths, One Lie and four more games are free to play.
What an end of year call looks like

Team Awards: Daniel wins “Most likely to find a meeting time that works in every time zone” with 4 votes and three anonymous reasons
Top Answers: The reveal for “Name something people say instead of ‘I don’t know’”: Team Aqua clears the board (Get back to you 3, I’ll check 3) and banks 8 points
Team Awards: Awards night: Sofia’s award card on top, and every teammate’s card from the game below
A 30-minute end of year call
Warm up, look back, celebrate, then play. Every step is a game from the same lobby, so nobody has to prepare slides.

Warm up: This or That
Two options per round and everyone votes while people are still joining. Nobody has to speak first.

End of year call or holiday party?
In December the end of year call is often the team’s holiday party too. Most of these games have a holiday option in the lobby, so the same plan works for both.
Holiday packs
Pick the Holiday season pack in Hot Seat, People Bingo, Top Answers, Punchline Duel and Four Groups, and the Holiday party award pack in Team Awards.
Holiday trivia and words
Trivia has a Holiday Party category, and Scribble and Draw Battle have a Christmas word set.
Not everyone celebrates
Keep the call about the team’s year: the Year in review awards and your own prompts work for everyone, whatever they celebrate.
A longer party
For a 45-minute holiday party with more games, see the virtual holiday party games guide linked below.
How to run an end of year call people enjoy
Book it early
The last weeks before the holidays fill up fast, and people start their time off. Put a 30-minute slot in the calendar in November.
Keep it in work hours
A slot during the work day gets more people than an evening event, especially across time zones.
Keep the awards kind
Positive superlatives only. The reasons in Team Awards are anonymous, so people write things they wouldn’t say out loud.
End with a thank-you
Close with a short thank-you from the team lead while everyone still has their award card on screen.
Questions
What are good end of year team building games?
Games that celebrate the team and need no prep: Team Awards for year-end superlatives, Top Answers with your own prompts about the year, and Trivia or Scribble for fun. Together they fill a 30-minute call.
How do we run end of year team awards online?
Open a Team Awards lobby, pick the Year in review pack or type your own awards, and share the link in the call. Everyone secretly votes for a teammate for each award and can add an anonymous reason; the winners are revealed one at a time, and everyone downloads an award card at the end.
Can we do this on Microsoft Teams or Zoom?
Yes. Paste the lobby link in the meeting chat; everyone plays in a browser tab next to the call, on a laptop or a phone, with no app to install. It works the same on Google Meet.
How long should an end of year team event be?
Thirty minutes in work hours suits most remote teams: a warm-up, a look back, the awards and one game. Each card shows how long a game takes.
Are the games free?
Scribble, Codenames, Two Truths, One Lie and four more games are free to play. Team Awards, Top Answers and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass.
What if not everyone on the team celebrates the holidays?
Make it about the team’s year rather than one holiday: pick the Year in review award pack and write your own prompts. The holiday packs are there for teams that want them.
How many people can play?
Team Awards takes 3 to 50 players, and Top Answers and Trivia up to 100. Each card shows the range.
