Fun Friday games for remote teams
A Fun Friday that people actually show up for: 15 minutes, the same slot every week, and a different game each time. Share one link in the call, everyone plays in their browser, and the game runs the rounds and the scores, so the host gets to play too.
Scribble, Codenames, Two Truths, One Lie and four more games are free. Trivia, Punchline Duel and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass.
What a Fun Friday looks like

Scribble: Marcus draws a robot while the team’s guesses come in, one of them close
Trivia: The answer to “Which colour pill does Neo take?” is revealed: four of five got Red and Priya leads the standings with 963
Punchline Duel: A clean sweep: Marcus’s “Whose yoghurt is this, and why is it older than me?” wins all 3 votes against Sofia’s answer
A 4-week Fun Friday rotation
One kind of game per week, so everyone gets a week that suits them: the artists, the know-it-alls, the strategists and the jokers. Then start again with new words, questions and prompts.
- Week 1
Draw: Scribble
Draw-and-guess everyone already knows, so it’s the easiest first week. Start with Easy words; 3 to 100 players.
- Week 2
Quiz: Trivia
Ten questions from the categories you pick, with a leaderboard after each one. Nothing to write or present.
- Week 3
Teams: Codenames
Split the call into two teams; every clue turns into a discussion. Best with 4 to 10 people, so open two lobbies for a bigger team.
- Week 4
Laugh: Punchline Duel
Funny answers to prompts go head to head and the team votes. The week people quote on Monday.

Fun Friday ideas by the time you have
15 minutes
One game at the end of the last meeting of the week: Scribble, Trivia or Word Bomb.
30 minutes
Two short games: a warm-up like This or That, then the week’s main game from the rotation.
Once a month
Make the last Friday a little longer and close with Team Awards: the team votes on positive superlatives for each other.
A new joiner this week
Swap the week’s game for Two Truths, One Lie or Who Said That?, so the team gets to know them.
How to make Fun Friday stick
Same slot, every week
Put a 15-minute recurring event in the calendar with the game in the title. A habit beats a big event once a quarter.
Keep it optional and short
Fifteen minutes in work hours, not after 5 on a Friday. People come back to things that end on time.
Mind the time zones
Friday afternoon in one office is Friday evening in another. Pick the hour when most of the team overlaps, or move it to Thursday.
Let the game host
The game picks the words and questions, runs the timer and keeps score, so the organiser plays like everyone else.
Questions
What are good Fun Friday games for remote teams?
Games that take 10 to 15 minutes, work for the whole team at once and need no prep. Scribble, Trivia, Codenames and Punchline Duel make a good 4-week rotation.
Can we play Fun Friday games on Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Paste the lobby link in the Teams meeting chat; everyone plays in a browser tab next to the call, with no Teams app to install. It works the same on Zoom and Google Meet.
How long should a Fun Friday be?
Fifteen minutes is enough for one game and is easy to keep every week. Once a month you can make it 30 minutes with two games.
Are the games free?
Scribble, Codenames, Two Truths, One Lie and four more games are free to play. Trivia, Punchline Duel and the other premium games are included with a TeamBridge pass.
What if our team is too big for one game?
Scribble, Trivia and This or That take up to 100 players in one lobby. For games made for small groups, like Codenames, open one lobby per breakout room.
Do people need an account?
No. The host signs in and shares the link; everyone else picks a name and plays on a laptop or phone.
